Pat Royals, President "Every job you do is a self portrait." |
Pat is a native Virginian who moved to Raleigh in 1976 when Rick's job
relocated to the triangle. Pat and Rick have been married for 33 years and have
two children, one of whom is working in the business. Prior to joining Royals
Contracting in 1996, Pat spent many years in real estate and property management. Pat has served for two years
as a teacher and mentor in Trinity Baptist Church's
Jobs For Life classes.

Rick started work in construction at age 14 with Clyde R. Royals, Inc. in Hampton, VA.
Over the years he had many promotions, and ended up moving to Raleigh in
1976, and in 1977 he was the recipient
of the Isosceles Award. After more promotions and a job change, Rick founded Royals
Contracting in October of 1995. Rick is
a Business Partner of
Jobs For Life and
a long-time member of Trinity Baptist Church in Raleigh where he has served for two years as a teacher and
mentor in Trinity's Jobs for Life classes.

Walt Johnson, Chief Estimator/Sales "For what is a man profited if he shall gain the whole world and lose his own soul?" Matthew 16:26 |
Walt is a graduate of Gaston College, a division of NC State University, with a degree in Civil Engineering. Walt has
had an extensive career in the construction business including positions of responsibility with NCDOT, C.C.Mangum, and, since 2002, Royals
Contracting. During the course of his career Walt has done everything from engineering training to managing the $25 million I-440
beltline project in Raleigh. He is active in several regional Chambers of Commerce and has served on the
Assoc. of General Contractors/NCDOT Joint Committee,
the National Asphalt Pavement Association's Legislative Task Force,
the Raleigh Chamber Transportation Committee, and
the transportation committee of the NC Citizens for Business and Industry. Walt serves on the Board of the Raleigh Rescue Mission.

Denise Willett Project Coordinator "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me" Phillippians 4:13 |
Denise Willett joined the team of Royals Contracting in May, 2008 with 30 years experience as an Office
Manager and 11 years experience in the Construction Industry. She currently holds the position
of Project Coordinator/Office Manager. Prior to joining Royals, Denise worked 18 years for a
hearing aid company. In 1998 she began her career in the Construction Industry working for various
general contractors holding positions of Office Manager, Assistant Project Manager, and Junior Estimator. She
has two sons who are currently in college and whom she says are her greatest accomplishment in life.

Randy Williams, Superintendent
|
Randy began his career in highway construction in the summer of 1985. He has worked
on various large highway projects throughout North and South Carolina for NCDOT
and SCDOT. Randy is Roadway Technician Certified. His experience is not
limited to State Road work, since he has also worked on many commercial projects.

Tim Royals, General Superintendent "Go hard or go home!" |
Born in Raleigh, NC in July of 1980, Tim started in construction
at age 15 working for Royals Contracting. After high school Tim earned a
BS degree in Construction Management from East Carolina University. Tim
started full time employment with Royals Contracting in June of 2003. Tim
uses his first hand experience and wide knowledge to assist in estimating,
field supervision, job scheduling, and effective communication in an ever
changing construction industry.

Jonathan Massey Estimator/Contract Administrator "The only people that fail are those who do not try." |
Johnny started his career at Royals Contracting in 2001, working as a laborer. After attending NC Wesleyan College for two years he returned
to Royals as a heavy equipment operator. And after working one year for a local engineer, he came to Royals full-time in his
current position of Estimator/Contract Administrator.

Steve Winks "Do it right the first time!" |
Steve has been with Royals Contracting for three years and brings to this
position a wide background of experience. Not only does Steve have many years experience in the
maintenance of large trucks and heavy equipment, but he has also had hands-on experience in
plumbing, home construction, and large-business inventory control.

Dale Pollard |
Dale was born and raised around heavy trucks and equipment. His father was a dispatcher
in a trucking company and his uncle ran a garage. Dale grew up in this environment,
studied auto mechanics in high school, and began earning his living in heavy equipment maintence
at age 18. He has worked for such companies as Gregory Poole and ASC Volvo before coming to
Royals, and has repaired everything from trucks to high end Caterpillar graders.
